MBCC CRIMINAL RECORD
CRIMINAL RECORD
One of the top performers in Phantom Entertainment. She searches for specific targets using a novelty show as a cover and confines them, among other things, without any regard for consequences. This has caused a panic and greatly disrupted the order in Eastside.
The subject once took extreme measures to put the Chief of the MBCC in danger in their confrontation. Therefore, the object is regarded by the FAC as a highly dangerous Sinner and must be detained immediately.
ADDENDUM : Since her detention, regular examinations have found that the subject's stress has reached a dangerous level. The finding can explain her various behaviors prior to her detention. To lower her insecurity and stabilize her mental state, the MBCC conducts desensitization therapy on her in the form of monitored physical contact with other Sinners or Chief when her conditions allow it. So far, this has been effective and her various indicators have been kept within normal range.
ARREST RECORDS
When the Chief is on a mission in Eastside, Serpent gets in the way of and tries to provoke the Chief. After the Chief has solved everything, Serpent owns up to the crimes she has committed, and voluntarily agrees to be detained, though it is not clear if she has an ulterior motive.
Serpent's origin is a mystery. She's registered as an orphan from Eastside by Phantom Entertainment. But further investigations show that she's closely linked to the Pet Snake Incident, the Disappearance of Phantom Entertainment Guests, and other strange cases.
A family of four from a villa neighborhood in Eastside has gone missing mysteriously. According to info on the internet and testimonies of the family's neighbors, the family kept a python as a pet, which was taken care of by a girl. The girl and the snake has also gone missing.
Through a comparison of different sources of information, it's confirmed that the girl is Sinner Serpent.
A recheck on all the information concerning Serpent turns up something bewildering about her, like where she attained the Bottle of Dreams. The MBCC is convinced that some person or people put Serpent up to it, and decides to dig deeper into her background.
PERFORMANCE IN SERVING TERM
The MBCC tried to detain Serpent and her snake in separate places, but the snake becomes agitated and restless in its cage, posing a threat to the lives of the staffers. Therefore the MBCC had to return the snake to Serpent's side.
SThe subject is very demanding about the temperature and humidity of living quarters. She demands a constant temperature, or she will not cooperate in any operations. Once, on a hot summer day, the subject stripped off every piece of clothing, let her snake cover up the private parts, and carried out a protest, to express her dissatisfaction.
The subject retains some habits she acquired as a performer with Phantom Entertainment, which help her build fairly amicable relationships in the MBCC. But when the subject perceives sarcasm or threat in the interlocutor's remarks, she tends to overreact. Some staffers said they felt their lives were under threat, and only a few Sinners find the way Serpent reacts quite amusing.
Once, while talking with the Chief, the subject used her snake to bind her feet and the Chief's together to stop the Chief from leaving the room. When questioned, the subject claimed that she just wanted a warmer to put under her blanket.

MUTATION ASSESSMENT
ABILITY SUMMARY
The subject awakened her power after being infected with Mania and bitten by a snake. When the snake venom combined with the Maniac energies inside her, she became a Sinner with some of the characteristics of snakes. The subject is good at covering her tracks and sensing heat sources, and her blood is toxicβthese characteristics make her a great stealthy fighter.
AWAKENING SIGNS
The subject doesn't know where she got infected with Mania, but remembers being on the brink of death due to a snakebite she sustained as a teenager. She was saved by Mania, which awakened her power and turned her into a Sinner.
CORRUPTION STATE
Upon examination, it's found that the subject suffers from a high level of Maniac corruption, but that her mind has not been affected significantly. No Mania Crystals have been found on her body, but her teeth, ears, eyes, and skin have taken on a snake-like characteristic.

Serpent was born in Syndicate, and sold as a child to be used as food for a huge black snake, which were popular pets in Eastside at the time. However, while her shipment was traveling through The Rust, its contamination combined with her near-death experience and a mention that people could find happiness in Eastside to awaken her as a Sinner, giving her to symbiotically bond with the snake that she was meant to be fed to. In Eastside, Serpent became a novelty show as the girl who could talk to snakes, and later a performer for Phantom Entertainment, although both careers ended in her killing her employers in retaliation for their mistreatment of her.
With nowhere else to go, Serpent encountered Marv at the Endless Carnival and acquired his heart, the Bottle of Dreams, which she began using to spread happiness through Ambrosia.
Serpent's unusual appearance is one part natural and one part because of her mutation as a Sinner. After bonding with her snake, Serpent gained some snakelike features and toxic blood, but she also mentions in her Interrogation that she was ridiculed because of her strange appearance for her whole childhood before awakening.

Serpent is employed as an entertainer by Eirene at the Midsummer Night's Club, using the interference that Eirene placed over the local Mania-detection network to hide her powers. There, using Mess as a distributor, she provided small amounts of Ambrosia to Eastside nightlife venues, deliberately making it seem rare in order to hide that she had enough stockpiled to create a large-scale Mania contamination.
Although she begins by spreading Ambrosia slowly, she is forced to act when Doyle discovers the drink's source in the Midsummer Night's Club. Serpent abducts him and spreads Ambrosia gas through the entire building, beginning a crisis that grows rapidly across Eastside. When the Chief comes to the club to confront her, Serpent traps them in her realm of dreams and argues with them about why they want to stop her plans, truly believing that her actions are bringing happiness to people who can't find it in a world full of suffering. Despite their opposition to each other, however, Serpent defends the Chief when they are attacked by Marv, revealing that it is the true monstrous source of her Ambrosia.
Their ideological battle is tipped in the Chief's favor when Doyle willingly leaves his Ambrosia-induced dream, proving that not everybody wants the false happiness that Serpent is trying to force on them. Doyle keeps Serpent restrained, making her powerless to stop the Chief as they return to battle Marv and destroy the realm of dreams that it created.

Serpent discovers a group of guests on Elysiland indulging in S&M, which confuses her as to how people can derive joy from pain, since her experience has been that the people who go to her performances are only interested in watching while other people are hurt or in danger. L.L. tells her that joy comes in many forms and correctly infers that Serpent is upset to have discovered that people can find pleasure in a way that she doesn't comprehend. Serpent believes that Elysiland can't make her happy, since she only derives joy from providing it to others, but L.L. counters that this is in fact the perfect place for her; she can experience and learn about everybody else's desires on the island, and find ways to integrate them into her own acts. Serpent begins to wander Elysiland, taking in all the decadent luxuries and becoming more and more entranced. But when a music box falls from her pocket, she snaps out of it; at the same moment she is approached by the Chief. Serpent remembers the end of her experiments with Ambrosia and decides that it is again time to wake up, leaving Elysiland.
